Level 1 A24 Instagram is marketing the director (Rose Glass) as “the new patron saint of A24 horror” so they’re definitely going for that Ari Aster/Robert Eggers fanbase (as they obviously should, artsy horror is obviously becoming synonymous with the brand). Should be interesting! level 2 no one is gonna replace my love for ari level 1 If anyone's curious, some of Glass's works, including the short film Room 55, are uploaded on her Vimeo. level 2 Oooh nice, thanks for this level 1 Saw this at TIFF and it was fantastic. I absolutely loved it. Really loved the ending. The entire movie though is uncomfortable to sit through, in the best way possible. level 2 Great to here... I saw Gems at TIFF and couldn’t praise the film more. level 1 a24 keeps exposing these damn catholics lol. level 1 Literally have no idea what to expect from this movie, but I like it level 1 This will probably be great but this is one of the worst cut trailers I can remember seeing from A24 in recent years. level 1 I'm sorry, but the song ruined this trailer. A24 trailers are known for being atmospheric and claustrophobic in nature, not playing a current pop hits to appeal to teenagers. I'll still see this opening weekend. level 2 This is a generalization for a small sample of their films. A24 has a decently sized catalog at this point and has consistently featured popular artists. Their third movie was Spring Breakers, which had Gucci Mane and Skrillex in the trailer. Also, the majority of their upcoming/recent releases have big name artists in their trailers. level 2 Completely agree with this. The song cheapens the impact of the trailer. I like BE but the song doesn’t work with this type of movie imo. level 2 Dude being music elitist is a bad look. REEKS INSECURITY. “Hey everyone just letting you know I don’t like this song but I’m still gonna check the movie out? ” Learn to take art for what it is and not what it can be, your whole life will open up. Cheers mate level 2 This isn’t true lol. If A24 didn’t ever use pop music, that’d be very weird. But of course they do. level 2 I’m 25 and that album is one of my favorites of the year. The song choice worked for me as a long time A24 fan AND a Billie Eilish fan. As for the film, it looks kind of messy tbh. I could be wrong but the tone of this film seems to be all over the place. level 2 that one was dope. but none will ever be as good as the midsommar logo. that one is beautiful.

It comes out on my birthday! level 1 I am but the way things are going might have to pass depending on how things are on the week of release. level 1 Honestly wouldn’t get your hopes up that it comes out on time. It may not be delayed a year like some movies but there’s not a huge chance it comes out at its orignal date. level 2 I know which is super unfortunate 😔 level 1 I had the chance to see it and a Q+A with Rose Glass at the Glasgow Film Festival but unfortunately couldn't make it. Really wish I had just went now level 1 I was looking forward to it on the first, but nope. Thanks virus!

Level 1 i loved the voice on that actress, there is something so beautiful but eerie about it... she was on his dark materials too and it caught my attention level 2 She was creepy AF on His Dark Materials level 2 Reminds me of Thomasin Mckenzie. level 1 I heard the main actress morfydd Clark is fantastic in this. She might be the next big thing. I can see a Gotham award for best breakthrough actor next year for her. Also BRitish independent film award nomination for best actress and win best new comer too level 2 She's also in His Dark Materials! Thought she looked familiar level 2 She is. So is Jennifer Ehle level 2 And she just got cast as Galadriel in the Amazon LOTR show. level 1 I saw this at a film festival earlier this year, and I loved it! And don't worry - I don't think the trailer gives away too much. It's about mode/tone way more than plot. level 2 how late into the movie does Lucas Hedges show up? level 2 Is it an atmospheric horror movie? level 2 It's about mode No, no, it's about Maud. level 2 That's kind of a big shift from most tense psychological thrillers. Can't wait to see how it turns out. level 2 Is the protagonist an unreliable narrator who hallucinates whole scenes because the director wants spooky imagery but is too pretentious to actually include supernatural elements? Cuz I'm fucking done with that kinda shit. level 1 The song felt kind of misplaced, but other than that? I'm pumped. level 2 The song fits in theory, but definitely feels out of place in practice... level 2 They also use a Billie Eilish song for Bombshell and I felt that was odd too. Hopefully it doesn't become a trend. level 2 Ari would've never allowed something so on the nose to be used for his trailer. Terrible song choice.
